Saturday, April 30, 2011 (day 225)
We were saddened today that the launch was delayed once again until the end of the week. After 15 days we threw in the towel and decided to head north to see our sons before we head home. We noticed that we weren’t alone in our decision as we saw many others leaving today. At least the decision was made to postpone 5 days (to ensure proper testing) rather than take it a day at a time. We cancelled our two remaining days in the park and took off at 11:30.
We told ourselves that wanting to see the launch brought us many wonderful days and nights as we traversed the Southern U.S. We met some neat people, saw many wonderful sights, missed a bunch of awful weather in the Northwest, and now we will be able to see our sons before we head back. All in all, we're very glad we came.
A farewell to seeing the shuttle launch
We stopped in St. George after driving 395 miles as we listened to the Mariners along the way. They tried to sweep the Boston Red Sox but alas, they fell short. Poor Felix got no offense support once again. Tomorrow we head toward Baltimore.
