Sunday-Wednesday , April 8-11, 2012 Days 301-304
Ahhh....weddings...lots of fun and lots of work. Sunday was a rest and clean up day. It was also Easter Sunday, and the "older" adults went to church, then back to the house for breakfast. The "younger" adults had fun in the sun, swimming, biking, and playing on the beach. Instead of an Easter dinner, we had lots of leftovers!
Monday was clean up the house, pack things up, and say a sad goodbye to the wonderful sun and sand and beach. Harris took Keith, Theresa, Tasha and Ewan to the airport, and Judy drove Reliance back to Gainesville. Kyle and Serenity stayed in St. Augustine for another day of their short honeymoon.
We stayed in Gainesville Monday night, waiting for Kyle and Serenity to return on Tuesday. One more night in Florida, then it was time to head west!
Wednesday morning we got up, ate breakfast, and hugged the "kids" goodbye. We headed north and west on a diagonal route towards Seattle. We continued driving on highways and byways, leaving Florida, going a little bit into Georgia, and ending up a few miles south of Montgomery, Alabama. We're camping at "The Woods" Rv Park and Campground, and intend to go into the city to explore tomorrow.
Pictures today are of the country roads, and the red dirt in Georgia.
We drove over several types of roads from county roads to state highways. The common thread that we enjoyed was the lack of traffic and being able to mosey along at 55 mph (gotta extend those miles per gallon).
Total miles driven today = 344
