Thursday, March 07, 2013 (Day 259)
Today Harris was off to Surprise to see the Mariners take on the Kansas City Royals. The Royals hadn’t lost a game yet in Spring Training and the M’s have had a good start. Harris did 2 more caches today on the way and 3 at the Surprise ball field. One of the ones was by a doggie park that was tricked out with an obstacle course and a water view.
Today’s game seat was 5 rows up from the Mariners dugout—in the shade on this 79 degree day (although Harris went to the sun seats after the 7th inning. This was perfect for seeing the debut of King Felix. He pitched 2 innings giving up a run on tow hits and striking out two. He looked like he was taking it slow and easy out there.
Harris was very impressed by #18 Iwakuma who looked strong and in control. There was more awesome offense shown today with even a “Grand Salamie” by Romero playing 2nd base and going 3 for 4 today. At the end of the 5th it was 6-1 Mariners and by the end of the game it was 12-2 Mariners. Wow. There was a foul ball that hit the shoulder of a lady 4 seats from Harris and bounced into the seat next to him. He was the gentleman and handed the ball to her.
It’s almost 6PM and the clouds are coming in and according to the forecast a low pressure system is due in tonight with temps dropping SIGNIFICANTLY by tomorrow. We shall see. It’s off to grill some salmon for dinner…
Total miles driven today = 38
