Cactus on morning ride
Can you see the moon?
The pregame time was taken up with a run for Rick and a short bike ride for Harris. Breakfast has been oatmeal after the coffee has been made. They found a small green area in a subdivision close to Camelback Ranch baseball field where they played some cribbage (Harris still being able to take advantage of Rick learning the game). Harris is still undefeated!
Green space for cribbage play
Afterwards, chicken salad sandwiches, cracker jacks, mint paddies, and chips in hand, they headed to the ballpark and watched the Angles beat the Soxs 9-7 with 24 hits in the game. The highlight was watching Pujols launch two towering home runs (his first two with the Angles). The LA fans will have fun watching this guy.

Between games Harris introduced Rick to the Texas Roadhouse restaurant. He was impressed with the great service, smiles, and their salads. They ordered the early dinner $9 specials and had the fried boneless chicken breast and pulled pork. They both ordered house salads (with bleu cheese dressing—yum), and changed it up with Rick ordering green beans and Harris going with the less healthy steak fries. Since they split their portions to try both dishes, they ended up eating the chicken and saving the pork for sandwiches the next day. They were so stuffed neither could eat or drink anything during the Mariners game that followed.
A nice sit-down view from left field
The Mariners played the Kansas City Royals. The crowd was dead the first few innings (perhaps they had eaten at the same place), but things picked up after the 5th inning. The score was 6-0 at the end of six and 6=2 at the end of nine. They got home a little after 10PM. Rick was still struggling to enter his brackets on the ESPN website and Harris decided to call it a night and save the blog till the morning.
