Spring Training Day 14 – Another 84 degree day

Spring Training Day 14 – Another 84 degree day

This morning Harris went for an hour bike ride while Rick did a morning run. As Harris rode around the airport , he spotted many planes practicing “touch and go” take offs and landings where an airplane would circle around the airport and touch down and take off again. He also spotted a gaggle of hot air balloons taking off.

While having coffee the Roadtrek owners that came in the night before came over to introduce themselves. A very interesting couple she taught (and was a principal) and he worked construction in Adak, AK and now live in New Mexico while retired (Dave is now a school board member). They told us about their pet project, the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Project.

Rick and Harris decided not to do a double header today as it involved going across town to a maybe sold out game or buying “cheap seats” online at the cost of $20+ for bleacher seats. This liberated them to enjoy the game, grab some brats to grill and relax at the RV park for a change. The Padres took on a split Angles squad that didn’t have many of their A game players. The goal was to see 24 or more hits. At the end of 5 the Angles had 12 and the Padres had 2. Fortunately the game got more exciting as the Padres scored 8 runs in the 8th. Total hits were 25 and the final score was Padres 8 and the Angles 7. A very good game.

At the RV park, Harris challenged Rick to a bocce game and proceeded to lose 15 to a few. After dinner Harris squeaked out a close one 15 to 14 and stated that there would be no more games until after the blog was written so that he could say he was tied with Rick in terms of games won.

After a Jacuzzi they called it a night to prepare for another double header day tomorrow.
