Spring Training Day 13 – Another double header day

Thursday, March 15, 2012 Day 277

Today's cribbage patch

This morning both Rick and Harris went on a short bike ride exploring nearby neighborhoods. After breakfast they headed to Surprise to see the Rangers and the Oakland Athletics. It was quite a game with over 20 hits and a grand slam in the ninth inning. Lots of action and they were able to find some cool seats in the shade after the first couple of innings of 84 degree sun. The game was almost 4.5 hours long (the longest one they’ve attended) and they were considering leaving it early (a most uncharacteristic action), but fortunately it quickened at the end.

Very true...

They decided to do Texas Roadhouse once more to try the steak. The wait time for a table was almost a half hour so they unpacked the chairs and table and started a cribbage game. Harris was many points ahead but Rick got a 24 point hand and caught up. No way to tell who would win since their table was ready and the game had to end.

Seats for innings 3 on

The highly anticipated Mariner vs Giants game was a bust due to the fact that neither team started any of their starters. The 11,500+ crowd (the largest to date in Peoria) had to settle for a great night weather wise and a few defensive gems and no names hitting away. Still a fine night Harris and Rick thought. They were fortunate to find some nice seats for the entire game. The game was also the quickest at 2:48. Then it was time to head home. Another fine day of baseball in Arizona.
